THE LEAD VERDICT
“The grilled vegetable platter on the rooftop was beautiful. Charred zucchini, peppers, and eggplant with a tahini drizzle. Watching the sunset over Parliament Hill while eating grilled veggies was peaceful”
“Only one vegan entrée option. For a rooftop restaraunt trying to appeal to a broad crowd, more plant-based main courses would be smart. The appetizers had options but the mains fell short.”
ALSO FILED
“ok but the cocktail list was creative with a good balance of classics adn signatures. The Smoked Old Fashioned was excellent and the beer selection had several local Ottawa breweries Great bar program for a rooftop spot.”
“No draft beer on the rooftop, only bottles adn cans. The indoor bar had taps but hauling kegs to the roof apparently wasn't worth it. a couple of draft options would improve the beer experience up top.”
“ALORA's rooftop patio overlooking downtown Ottawa was stunning at sunset and then teh jerk chicken had real Scotch bonnet heat with allspice and thyme Good Caribbean spice in the nation's capital. ok so the rooftop vibes were perfect trust me”
“teh indoor dining room felt generic compared to the spectacular rooftop. If you can't get rooftop seating, the experience drops significantly. like the food is the same but the atmosphere is half the appeal.”
“The burger was thick, juicy, adn well-seasoned Basic but done really well The sweet potato fries were a nice touch. good portion sizes and the patio view of the Ottawa skyline made it feel special no joke”
“The menu tries to do too many things. Caribbean, Italian, Asian fusion all on one menu. Jack of all trades situation. i'd rather they picked a lane adn excelled at it”
