THE LEAD VERDICT
“ok so their roasted mushroom dish was actually AMAZING - like earthy adn smoky with these perfectly crispy edges and it totally made me rethink the whole plant-based thing in vancouver like and the server was so cool about which stuff could be made vegan, didn't make me feel like a pain at all”
“honestly granville gets SO LOUD tho, especially on weekends when everyone's crowding in and out. literally had to like lean all the way across the table just to talk to my friend ha”
ALSO FILED
“ok the lamb souvlaki here is NO JOKE - perfectly charred edges and this spice blend that actually made me sweat!!! finally found a greek place in vancouver that doesn't hold back on the heat”
“tzatziki was SO disappointing tho super mild like it needed horseradish or jalapeno or smth to actually complement those bold flavors instead of jsut cooling everything down”
“the plating is like instagram perfection - everything looks like actual art when it comes out. tbh thier octopus appetizer was SO pretty with those bright purple tentacles on white ceramic, and the lighting is perfect if you wanna take pics”
“the tables are RIGHT on top of each other which makes it annoying to get good shots without whacking your neighbor or getting their drink in the frame”
“got a seat at the bar and honestly had one of the best solo dining nights in forever. like the bartender was attentive but not like hovering, and it was cool watching the kitchen do their thing from where i was sitting”
“so like my cocktail took forever to show up - even on a random wednesday they seemed slammed and the bar was def getting ignored compared to the dining room soo goood”
“the lighting in here is so good - dim with exposed brick and candles everywhere, makes you feel like you're in some kind of intimate cave even though you're on busy granville”
“music was way too loud for actual conversation honestly felt more like a club than a resturant especially as the night went on”
“finally found a place that does elevated pub food right, you know? the burger was perfectly charred, brioche bun didn't fall apart, adn their local craft beer selection was solid - the Parallel 49 on tap was fresh and cold”
“22 bucks for a burger tho. i get it's fancy and downtown vancouver and whatever but my wallet was NOT happy about that would recommend”
“the kids absolutely loved the chicken skewers - tender, not too spicy, and the portions were huge we literally had leftovers for lunch the next day”
“ok so getting a hiiigh chair took forever and with three restless kids those extra ten minutes waiting felt like an eternity on granville street smh”
“honestly so this isn't even asian food but teh grilled octopus reminded me of the best cantonese stuff - tender with a nice char and the seasoning was surprisingly delicate, let the seafood actually shine”
“teh greeeek salad though felt like it had been sitting out for hours. real talk feta looked tired and the tomatoes didn't have that fresh burst you're supposed to get from mediterranean cooking ugh”
