THE LEAD VERDICT
“finally found a bistro that actually takes their COFFEE seriously. the cortado was perfectly balanced with microfoam that looked like velvet and theyre using beans from a local Montreal roaster that actually tastes goood”
“oonly oat milk for non-dairy tho and it was clearly cheap stuff that curdles in hot coffee. for a place that cares about espresso the milk alternatives are totally an afterthought”
ALSO FILED
“like soup course was a masterclass - silky hot broth, cool crème fraîche swirls, crunchy croutons that stayed crispy teh whole time temperature and texture balance was perfect”
“fish was slightly overcooked with a rubbery texture which was disappointing cuz it should've been delicate and flaky”
“the exposed brick and vintage posters create this authentic french bistro feel without being touristy. love that they kept the original tin ceiling and added warm lighting that makes everyone look good”
“tables are way too small tho. tbh you can barely fit two plates adn glasses without everything touching and COZY becomes cramped real quick when youre trying to eat”
“duck confiit sadnwich was fire!! crispy skin, tender meat, pickled vegetables adding that acidic punch. elevated street food that still tastes like street food ugh”
“bread was too hard and crusty - hurt my gums trying to bite through it. sometimes simple is jsut better cant complain”
“their late-night burger is just different. perfectly charred patty brioche bun that doesn't fall apart and fries that stay crispy even at 1 AM. like street food quality but in a sit-down place”
“kitchen closes way earlier than they say tho - showed up at 8:30 on a thursday and half the menu was already gone”
“charcuterie board was a photographer's dream - meats and cheeses arranged beautifully with cornichons and fig jam, gorgeous wooden board and good lighting for photos”
“the lighting in there is so dark and moody that you can't photograph anything without flash which feels rude in such an intimate space cant complain”
“plant-based burger was outstanding - house-made patty with complex flavors and actual meaty texture, vegan aioli, perfectly toasted brioche bun”
“vegan options are basically just the burger tho adn the server wasn't even sure which sides were dairy-free when i asked”
“real talk perfect late-night spot that actually stays open when tehy say they will. steak frites at 11 PM tasted just as good as dinner time adn staff doesn't make you feel rushed even if youre the last table yikes”
“lowkey wine list is surprisingly limited for a french bistro - mostly basic bottles that you could find at any corner store for half teh price theyre charging wow”
