THE LEAD VERDICT
“chez josé is surprisingly kid-friendly for such a small space - teh owners kids were literally doing homework there which made my kids feel comfortable right away they make a simple grilled cheese that my pickiest eater actually finished and the prices are reasonable for families”
“with jsut a handful of tables theres no way to fit a family of five comfortably. we ended up squished at a tiny table meant for two which made eating with young kids pretty rough”

“gotta say chez José is like a family goldmine huge portions super cheap prices adn my kids actually ate their pancakes without complaining. staff was patient with us and brought extra napkins without even being asked”
“it gets absolutely packed on weekend mornings wiht zero room for strollers so navigating with little ones is stressful wow”
“noot specifically halal but chez josé was realy helpful answering ingredient questions adn tehy have tons of pescatarian and vegetarian options that work for me 10/10”
“ok but tehy use teh same griddle for everything so if youre strict abt dietary stuff cross contamination could be a problem meh”
“their weekend bruunch french toast with fresh berries adn maple syrup was absolutely divine - thick custardy slices that werent soggy with perfectly ripe strawberries and real quebec maple syrup. simple but elegant and it went so well with their smooth rich coffee”
“no mimosas or alcohol at all which is a huge miss for a brunch spot. sometimes you want that celebratory weekend drink wiht your eggs and having to go elsewhere for it just kills the whole experience”
“Chez José Café actually takes halal seriously - their breakfast wrap with halal turkey sausage was delicious and the staff knew exactly which items are halal. finally found a place that respects dietary needs without making you feel like youre asking for special treatment”
“seating is super limited especially during morning rush. i mean waited 15 minutes just to sit down even though thiers only like 8 seats total in the whole place”
“as someone who eats solo a lot i really like that CHEZ José has counter seating where you can actually chat with other people adn the owner. the espresso was pulled properly with nice crema and sitting at the counter made me feel like part of the community instead of just another customer ugh”
“the wifi kept cutting out which is frustrating when youre trying to work adn enjoy your coffee. for a place that clearly gets laptop users they should probably prioritize having reliable internet idk”
“tehir breakfast poutine was such a cool twist crispy hash browns with perfect cheese curds and spicy hollandaise that had actual kick. way more creative than i expected from a basic café ugh”
“tbh the coffee was weak and tasted like it sat on a hot plate forever reminds me why i only go to places that actually care about thier brew”
“no fancy craft beer here but sometimes you just want a cold molson with your hangover breakfast. chez josé nails that unpretentious no bullshit café vibe”
“thee breakfast sandwich was so basic processed cheese on white bread tastes like it came from a gas station not a loved local spot would reccomend”
