THE LEAD VERDICT
“literally sat at the bar and the bartender treated me so well - like they knew exactly when to chat vs when to jsut let me chill with my food!!! plus watching the kitchen from the bar made eating alone feel more like a show than just being by myself which was nice”
“but then i needed the check and waited like FIFTEEN MINUTES. made eye contact with three servers and they all suddenly got real interested in their phones. super annoying”

“the braised short rib literally falls apart if you touch it with a fork - must take them like two days to cook it. the sauce is so rich and wine-forward and just coats the meat perfectly”
“the root vegetables that came with it though were cooked way too long - just mush basically. totally lost any texture and tasted kinda bland”

CONTRIBUTING CRITICS
“honestly THIER duck confit was legit like the best stuff i had in tuscany - meat literally falling off the bone with crispy skin and tender insides. that takes real skill to pull off. magnifico!”
“teh risotto tho was overcooked and gummy af - like any nonna would've sent that right back. for how fancy this place is supposed to be basic techniques should NOT be that off”
“the chocolate souffle showed up still steaming and they brought this perfectly cold sauternes without us even asking for it. the temperature thing combined with how the wine just cuts through all that richness was honestly amazing”
“ngl TEH wine list was solid but kinda bummed they didn't have any dessert cocktails? like something sweet and complex would've been nice instead of just wine pairings”
“the roasted vegetable tart was honestly a revelation - all these seasonal veggies layered with this nutty herb crust and you can tell the chef actually knows how to make vegetables be the main thing”
“i mean the vegan options are pretty limited so i didn't have much choice adn had to ask the server to tweak a bunch of stuff to make it work for me haha”
“their duck confit's actually really well done - the skin gets all crispy and lacquered while the meat stays silky which is hard to pull off. you can tell its influenced by that cantonese roasting thing but like... they do the french seasoning approach on top of it”
“but that 'asian-inspired' slaw tehy had with the fish?? total mess. like they just threw together miso and sesame oil and cilantro without any idea of how its supposed to work together. confused doesn't even cover it”
“ok so the exposed brick and those dim edison bulbs they have going on really do create this amazing moody vibe that just makes you feel like something special is happening, you know? and then they have the open kitchen set up so you can actually watch the chefs doing their thing which is kinda theatrical and keeps you entertained the whole time”
“but honestly the tables are like RIGHT on top of each other. i could hear literally everything my neighbor was saying about their divorce and stuff. not really the intimate dinner i was going for lol”
“ok so its not really a brunch place but their weekend lunch knocked me out - perfectly poached eggs over house-cured salmon!!! the hollandaise was so silky and lemony, better than actual dedicated brunch spots i go to”
“no bottomless mimosas or even a decent brunch cocktail MENU which felt like they're really missing out on weekend service money nuff said”
