THE LEAD VERDICT
“legit for twenty-two bucks teh bouillabaisse was an absolute steal - loaded wiith fresh mussels and prawns and fish in this incredible saffron broth. the portion could feed like two people easy, quality rivals places charging double in Old Montreal soo good”
“bread basket cost an extra six dollars which felt LIKE highway robbery for basically just baguette slices. when you're already charging for bread at least make it exceptional right”
ALSO FILED
“moules marinières were exceptional - plump briny mussels that tasted fresh caught swimming in white wine broth wiht fresh herbs. ok so each shell had perfectly cooked meat no rubberiness at all which is exactly what you want ha”
“teh fish of the day salmon was clearly not fresh enough, lacked that bright clean taste it should've. for a place that crushes shellfish the finfish was really disappointing idk”
“teh moules-frites had this great kick from the white wine and garlic broth - not spicy spicy but like the black pepper and herbs create this warming heat that builds up”
“ngl the spicy merguez was pretty disappointing honestly barely any harissa heat that you'd expect from a french brasserie”
“coq au vin was visually stunning - deep burgundy sauce around tender chicken thighs with pearl onions and mushrooms that looked like little jewels. the rustic earthenware crock it came in made for perfect moody lighting against the exposed brick”
“teh tables are packed so tight getting a clean overhead shot was basically impossible without someone else's meal in the frame. for real intimate vibe works for eating but its frustrating for food pics”
“real talk not halal but their fish dishes are seriously exceptional the bouillabaisse was like i was in marseille with the saffron broth adn perfectly cooked seafood”
“yo limited options if you're avoiding pork and alcohol in sauces tho teh staff did explain INGREDIENTS which was helpful”
“sitting at teh bar you can watch the whole open kitchen and the bartender pierre was super knowledgeable about wine pairings and what they were cooking solid”
“def solo diners get seated fast but i noticed couples waiting way longer for tables even when bar seats were open dead serious”
“their weekend brunch cassoulet is pure genius - whoever put a poached egg on white beans and duck sausage deserves a medal and it's hearty French comfort food that somehow works perfectly at 11 AM wiht a mimosa. lowkey brunch goals ACHIEVED”
“coffee situation is tragic for a brunch spot they're using some generic dark roast that tastes like it was brewed yesterday and reheated today. seriously need to step up the coffee game because everything else here is solid”
“great family spot kids loved the simple steak frites while us adults could do the weird stuff adn the portions were big enough to share appetizers solid”
“no high chairs available when we showed up with our toddler tho the staff tried to help with extra cushions”
