THE LEAD VERDICT
“the truffle mac and cheese came out looking like actual art honestly, like this gorgeous golden thing wiht breadcrumb topping that had all these layers and textures catching the light!!! and then underneath was just like... pools of creamy cheese wrapped around the pasta shells. looked incredible”
“ngl the lighting in this place is BRUTAL for trying to take pics of your food. just harsh fluorescent overhead stuff that makes everything look washed out adn gray, creates shadows everywhere that make the dishes look terrible”
ALSO FILED
“they do wine pairings with their mac menu and the chardonnay they suggested for the lobster version was honestly inspired. like the buttery notes just complemented the rich cheese sauce so well”
“but they have NO dessert menu at all? like such a missed opportunity to round out the comfort food thing with something sweet at the end”
“not even kidding ok so the mac and cheese here actually surprised me - they've elevated this like.. comfort food thing wiht quality aged cheddar that has real depth, and the breadcrumb topping has this satisfying crunch that reminds me of the textural contrast in good dim sum dishes chefs kiss”
“seriously teh portion sizes felt kinda small for the price point tho especially coming from someone used to generous chinese family-style servings where leftovers are expected not gonna lie”
“they have this beautiful vegan mac option with cashew cream and nutritional yeast that actually delivers on that cheesy comfort without any dairy - it's creamy, indulgent, and exactly what this vegan heart needed skip it”
“wait time was longer than expected for what's essentially elevated comfort food, and i wished they had more vegan protein add-on options beyond just vegetables chefs kiss”
“ok their spicy jalapeno mac actually has real heat to it, which is rare out here in california honestly. reminded me of nashville hot sauce vibes wiht actual depth to the spice, not that weak stuff you usually get not gonna lie”
“the portion was kinda small though, like way smaller than WHAT im used to back home. felt more like a side dish than an actual meal for a full grown person y'know”
“legit their truffle mac and cheese is absolutely divine - the earthiness of real truffle oil paired with their creamy cheese blend creates this luxurious comfort food experience that'd pair beautifully with a crisp white wine”
“def unfortunately they dont have much of a dessert program, which left me craving something sweet to finish this indulgent meal properly”
“the bacon mac is exactly what you want - thick-cut bacon pieces throughout creamy, properly seasoned cheese sauce with a golden-brown crust on top. it's comfort food done right, no frills needed”
“they dont have a proper beer selection to go with this kinda hearty fare - jsut like a few basic options that don't realy complement the rich savory flavors chefs kiss”
“the lobster mac though... that was done RIGHT. like had these generous chunks of sweet lobster meat folded into pasta that was perfectly al dente, and the gruyere-heavy cheese blend didnt overpower the seafood at all”
“servicee was rlly slow during the lunch rush tho. i mean took like 20 minutes to get our order out even tho it's literally jsut mac and cheese, shouldnt be that complicated dead serious”
