THE LEAD VERDICT
“lowkey teh kensington spot has this great neighborhood bistro feel - warm wood, vintage local PHOTOS on the walls, huge windows with natural light pouring in. feels like actually part of the community not just some corporate chain 10/10”
“literally tables are crammed pretty tight togetehr so its hard to have a private conversation without basically eavesdropping on the people next to you”
ALSO FILED
“flat white game is strong here - proper microfoam with a beatiful rosetta pattern adn espresso that has this nice chocolate undertone without needing sugar. yo they clearly know what theyre doing with coffee 10/10”
“cafe area gets chaotic during morning rush - hard to find a quiet spot to enjoy your coffee when everybodys grabbing stuff adn running smh”
“ok the lunch special is insane for $16 - you get a huge portion of their famous mac and cheese plus a side salad and a drink. honestly the mac and cheese alone would cost that at most kensington places”
“but a pint of local beer is $8 which feels like a lot honestly. i get that its calgary but thats pushing it even for a trendy spot”
“teh staff really went out of their way to help with my dietary stuff, checked with the kitchen about ingredients and offered to change things. the mediterranean options feel authentic and they actually care about making them taste good skip it”
“teh hummus appetizer was rlly boring tho adn didnt have that garlic and lemon punch i expect. i mean tasted like it came out of a container not homemade ha”
“i mean teh fish tacos are seriously good - the halibut is fresh and flaky and sweet with this light batter that doesnt overpower it the pico and lime crema go with it so well without covering up the actual seafood TASTE lol”
“the mussels in the seafood pasta were kinda small and some were definitely overcooked and rubbery. for what theyre charging that should be way better quality”
“the gluten-free menu here is actually really thought out - their GF fish and chips uses rice flour batter that's actually crispier than most regular versions ive had. honestly the server knew about cross contamination stuff and made me feel totally comfortable no joke”
“the gluten-free bread for sadnwiches WAS way too dense and crumbly, fell apart while i was eating it. theyre trying but the bread quality really needs to get better trust me”
“the korean fried chicken is exceptional - crispy exterior that shatters when you bite into it with juicy meat inside glazed in this perfect sweet and spicy gochujang sauce”
“gotta say the ramen was really underwhelming - thin watery broth wiht no depth that i was looking for”
“those fish tacos are FIRE - crispy battered fish with tangy slaw and this killer chipotle mayo. street food done right”
“yo portions are tiny for teh price - walked out still hungry and needed to grab something else”
