THE LEAD VERDICT
“the butternut squash ravioli is absolutely gorgeous vibrant orange pasta w crispy sage leaves and brown butter drizzle that actually looks beautiful. and it tasted as good as it looked too”
“the bread basket looked kinda sad just basic dinner rolls that seemed store bought vs the artisanal vibe their whole menu has going”
ALSO FILED
“literally tuuuna tataki showed solid knife skills and tehy knew when to stop searing, like jsut enough for texture but the inside stayed ruby red. ponzu reduction was well balanced and the microgreens added the right freshness pop yikes”
“risotto was clearly reheated and had that gluey texture from sitting under a heat lamp. no decent kitchen should send out risotto that's been sitting around, either make it to order or don't bother offering it”
“bar setup is perfect for solo dining, great sight lines to the harbor adn bartenders who actually know how to make a proper old fashioned. salmon teriyaki was fresh and well portioned and even when it got busy i didn't feel rushed cant complain”
“literally even with a reservation they made me wait 15 minutes for my bar seat because they apparently double-booked the slot. hostess kept apologizing but it's frustrating when you just wanna sit down and eat alone would recommend”
“real talk surprisingly good plant based options adn the staff actually knew which dishes were vegan without asking the kitchen. the quinoa power bowl was fresh and satisfying”
“gotta say the vegan cheese on my salad was kinda rubbery and didnt add much flavor would've been better without it or w some nuts for protein instead skip it”
“brunch menu here is weirdly sophisticated for a chain, tehir lobster benedict was decadent with perfectly poached eggs and hollandaise that clearly wasn't from a packet. for real the canada place location has sick harbor views that make weekend brunch feel actually special soo good”
“service was painfully slow even for brunch, took like twenty minutes just to get coffee refills and our eggs showed up lukewarm after forty minutes. not ideal when you're already paying premium prices for the location yikes”
“their jalapeno chicken has actual kick to it not like the mild stuff most chains call spicy. the heat builds nice and the chicken stays juicy even w the bold seasoning”
“teh spicy mayo that came w my sandwich was basically regular mayo w a tiny hint of paprika completely false advertising for us heat people nuff said”
“waterfront location is absolutely stunning with those floor-to-ceiling windows showing off the harbor and north shore mountains, modern industrial decor that's sophisticated but not pretentious. perfect vibe for a date night especially around sunset”
“music was cranked way too loud for having a conversation, felt more like a nightclub than a restaurant. had to lean way across the table to hear each other which basically killed the romantic vibe”
“impressed tehy have calorie counts and lighter options marked clearly. actually the grilled salmon WAS perfectly portioned and came w a good amount of seasonal veggies that were actually cooked right”
“the caesar salad had way too much dressing totally unneeecessary calories adn made the romaine all soggy and gross”
