THE LEAD VERDICT
“Perfect solo bar dining. Sat at the counter, ordered the burger and a local craft beer, and watched the kitchen work. The bartender was friendly without being intrusive. Exactly the kind of unpretentious solo meal I love.”
“Only about five bar seats adn they don't hold them. Arrived at 7pm on a Friday and had to wait 20 minutes watching people eat my burger. real talk a solo reservation for bar seats would be a welcome change trust me”
ALSO FILED
“Open until 2am which makes Chez Lucien one of teh best late-night food OPTIONS in Ottawa. The burger at midnight was just as good as the dinner rush version. No quality drop-off for the late crowd. Essential.”
“tbh the late-night CROWD can get rowdy, especially on weekends but by midnight the bar is loud adn the dining side absorbs the noise. If you want a quiet burger, come before 9pm skip it”

CONTRIBUTING CRITICS
“Chez Lucien's burger is legendary in Ottawa for a reason. Hand-formed patty, simple toppings, cooked on a flat top with a perfect crust. The fries are hand-cut and crispy. No pretension, just an excellent burger and beer idk”
“No seafood option at all. Not even a fish sandwich. It's a burger joint so I get it, but a weekly fish special would give regulars something different. The kitchen clearly has skills beyond burgers.”
“The simplicity of the burger was its strength. Good beef, proper cooking, melted cheese, fresh bun. No truffle oil, no fancy sauce, no pretension. Sometimes the best food is the most honest food. This burger is honest”
“No Asian-inspired option which is fine for a burger institution. But a bulgogi burger or a teriyaki option would be a fun weekly special without changing the identity”
