THE LEAD VERDICT
“the atmosphere here is absolutely stunning - dark wood paneling warm lighting and the open kitchen creates this theatrical energy that makes every meal feel like an event cant complain”
“teh tables are packed quite close together so intimate conversations become challenging when the dining room fills up lol”
ALSO FILED
“their signature steak tartare was a revelation - silky buttery beef with just the right amount of capers for that bright acidic pop, served with house-made crackers that had the perfect crisp”
“i mean the Caesar salad was overdressed to the point where the romaine lost ITS natural crunch and became limp nuff said”
“tbh even though it's primarily a steakhouse thier weekend brunch exceeded expectations - the steak and eggs featured a perfectly poached egg that created the most luxurious sauce when broken”
“teh coffee was surprisingly weak for a place of this caliber, tasted like it had been sitting on the burner too long”
“thee signature ribeye plating here was literally instagram gold - like perfect grill marks, colorful roasted veggies arranged all artsy, adn the plate was warm so everything stayed perfect throughout the meal. honestly the lighting even hit it jsut right for a food pic would reccomend”
“the tableside caesar salad thing was cool i guess but it totally blocked my view of the dining room adn created weird shadows when i tried to get a photo of the final plate which was annoying ugh”
“ok their weekend brunch menu is actuually insane - the eggs benedict had perfectly poached eggs that broke SO nicely over house made english muffins and the hollandaise had just enough lemon to cut through all the richness. pLUS bottomless mimosas with fresh squeezed oj just saying”
“literally but service during the weekend brunch rush is pretty brutal - waited like 45 mins for our eggs benedict while literally watching people who came after us get thier food first which was frustrating”
“honestly was pleasantly surprised to find several halal-certified options clearly marked on the menu adn the halal ribeye was cooked to absolute perfection with a beautiful char no joke”
“def teh service felt a bit rushed even tho we had reservations - OUR server seemed to be juggling too many tables”
“like the staff was actually amazing with my kids - brought crayons without even being asked, split adult portions so we could share adn our server even made my youngest a special mocktail so he felt included in the grown up dinner thing nuff said”
“the whole place is pretty loud though with the open kitchen and everything which made it kinda hard for my family to actually talk to each other especially with my elderly parents visiting”
“the Chop Burger is exactly what a steakhouse burger should be - 8oz of perfectly seasoned beef cooked to proper medium with aged cheddar and crispy bacon on brioche that actually holds together. throw in their rotating craft beer selection and its just burger perfection”
“teh beer list is decent but they lean way too hard on standard lagers and ipas!!! for a place this fancy i'd kinda like to see some more interesting craft stuff or at least a few local toronto breweries in the mix”
