THE LEAD VERDICT
“The steak frites was classic bistro perfection. good cut of beef, properly cooked, with THIN crispy fries and a peppercorn sauce. Paired with a Belgian ale from thier beer list. Solid comfort food yikes”
“The beer selection was small, only abt 6 options. i mean for a bistro in Ottawa's craft beer scene, even 10-12 options including local breweries would elevate the experience.”

“teh bouillabaisse had fresh mussels, clams, and white fish in a saffron-tomato broth!!! For an inland city like Ottawa the seafood quality was impressive. Rich, aromatic, and served with crusty bread for soaking.”
“No raw seafood options. A simple oyster plate or a fish tartare would show confidence in their seafood sourcing. Everything was cooked which is fine but a crudo would be a nice addition.”
“Cocotte Bistro's weeeekend brunch had authentic French dishes. The croque madame was perfectly assembled with béchamel, gruyère, adn a sunny egg on top and then yo the café au lait was strong and served in a wide bowl. Parisian vibes in Ottawa lol”
“No brunch cocktails beyond basic mimosas. A French 75 or a Kir Royale would be natural additions to a French bistro brunch menu and i mean teh food is very French but the drinks are generic.”
“The moules frites were amazing!!! A huge pot of mussels in white wine and garlic broth with a mountain of crispy fries for dipping. For $22 it was a massive amount of food. Best value French in Ottawa.”
“real talk teh menu is small and doesnt change often. after three visits you've tried everything and also a seasonal rotation or weekly specials would keep regulars coming back for something new wow”
