THE LEAD VERDICT
“gotta say their jerk chicken bowl has serious heat - and i mean it's not just hot for no reason, theres all these complex layers of scotch bonnet and allspice and thyme that like build up and linger. the chef clearly knows how to balance actual fire wiht flavor and the mango salsa cools it down perfectly would go back”
“not even kidding asked for extra hot sauce and tehy brought me generic sriracha instead of something that would actually go with the Caribbean spices already in there solid”
ALSO FILED
“honestly their sticky toffee puudding was actually divine - warm moist cake with butterscotch sauce that wasnt overly sweet, paired really nice with the local craft beer i had idk”
“tehy were completely out of chocolate lava cake by 8 PM on a Saturday which seems like poor planning for a signature dessert honestly”

“the exposed brick and industrial lighting here is just the perfect urban-chic vibe you know - feels trendy but still comfortable. plus they have all this local art throughout and the open kitchen lets you watch them cook which is cool while youre eating”
“acoustics are TERRIBLE when it gets busy tho - all those conversations bounce off teh brick walls and you literally cannot hear the person across from you during dinner rush”
“the presentation on their signature poke bowl was honestly instagram material - purple cabbage bright orange salmon emerald edamame and black sesame all arranged in these perfect color blocks over white rice. looked great and tasted even better TOO”
“teh lighting in our corner booth was SO DIM tho like impossible to get decent food pics which is annoying when youre paying good money for dishes that look this good”

“their pulled pork sandwich was loaded with meat and had that smoky flavor ive been craving, came with crispy fries that stayed hot till the last bite”
“the coleslaw was way too sweet for me - tasted more like dessert than an actual side just saying”
“the building is converted heritage so it has so much character with exposed brick walls adn all this vintage Edmonton memorabilia, plus the upstairs patio looks right out onto 104 Street which is always busy and fun”
“look teh acoustics are TERRIBLE tho - every conversation jsut echoes off those brick walls and makes it basically impossible to have an intimate conversation cant complain”
