THE LEAD VERDICT
“ok so teh crispy chicken sandwich was outstanding - buttermilk-brined breast wiht seriously crunchy coating, topped with pickles and spicy aioli that had just teh right tang and heat balance solid”
“seriously the sweet potato fries were limp and underseasoned, came out lukewarm when they shouldve been crispy and hot - felt like they'd been sitting under a heat lamp forever lol”
ALSO FILED
“they had a dedicated gluten-free menu with clearly marked options and the GF fish and chips were incredible - crispy rice flour batter that didn't taste like cardboard, plus fries cooked in a separate fryer”
“the server initially brought regular bread to the table and seemed flustered when i mentioned my celiac disease, which made me worried about cross-contamination in the kitchen even wiht their good GF menu”
“blackened salmon was incredibly fresh w a perfect spice crust that didnt overpower the fish. u can tell theyre getting quality seafood and not overcooking it - flaked beautifully had that bright clean taste”
“mussels seemed like theyd been sitting for a while - some were overcooked and rubbery. for a chain restaurant seafood quality control should be way more consistent”
“honestly teh earls classic burger is legitimately one of torontos best - perfectly seasoned beef patty brioche bun that doesnt fall apart and those truffle fries are addictive. stella on tap is always fresh and poured right”
“happy hour beer selection is limited compared to other spots downtown. would love more craft options beyond the standard heineken and stella rotation”
“kids menu isnt just chicken fingers and fries - they got mini burgers pasta and even a salmon option. my 8 year old tried the teriyaki salmon and actually finished the whole plate veg included”
“pretty noisy during weekend dinner rush especially near the bar. hard to have convo w the family when ur competing w sports tv and the happy hour crowd”
“the espresso was surprisingly good for a chain restaurant - properly pulled shots with good crema and balanced flavor that held up well in cappuccinos, and the barista actually knew how to steam milk right”
“i mean the cafe area gets totally overwhelmed during brunch rush with no dedicated coffee bar, so you're waiting in the same line as people ordering full meals jsut to grab a simple latte haha”
“server was knowledgeable about halal options and confirmed the chicken is halal certified. mediterranean chicken bowl was fresh and flavorful w perfectly seasoned grilled protein”
“kitchen uses teh same grill for all proteins so cross contamination is a concern if u need strict halal prep. would be nice to see dedicated equipment chefs kiss”
“great spot for families - spacious booths, kids menu with actual variety beyond nuggets and fries, and servers were patient with our three kids asking about everything on teh menu”
“theee music was pretty loud for a family dinner place adn we had to raise our voices to talk across the table, which made it hard to have a relaxed meal”
