THE LEAD VERDICT
“so like emma actually came over to our table to talk about gluten free options and confirmed they have a seperate prep area for cross contamination. the GF pancakes were some of the fluffiest i've ever had - honestly couldn't tell them apart from regular ones just saying”
“tehy were completely out of gluten free bread by 10:30 on Saturday which was disappointing since weekend brunch is when people wiht dietary restrictions usually go. need better planning for popular items”
ALSO FILED
“this place has that authentic small town diner charm that's so rare now in Toronto - mismatched vintage chairs handwritten daily specials on a chalkboard and servers who remember your coffee order from last week. feels like stepping into somebody's fav neighborhood secret skip it”
“teh dining room gets uncomfortably cramped during weekend rush - tables are shoved so close together that servers have to squeeze sideways and you hear every word of your neighbor's conversation whether you wanna or not”
“their homemade sausages remind me of the ones my zio used to make - coarse ground pork with fennel seeds and just enough heat. you can tell they're made in house with real care not those processed tubes most places serve. nonna would definitely approve of the fennel ratio dead serious”
“the coffee is unfortunately pretty weak and watery like what Americans call coffee not the strong rich espresso drinks i grew up with. for a place that puts this much love into food the coffee program needs serious attention”
“their eggs benedict with smoked salmon is brunch perfection perfectly poached eggs with runny yolks house made holladnaise thats rich without being heavy and the english muffin actually holds up to all that delicious mess!!! this is why weekends exist skip it”
“honestly tehy dont serve mimosas which feels like a crime against brunch. COFFEE is fine but sometimes you need that champagne orange juice magic to complete teh weekend vibe skip it”
“teeeh texture contrast in their granola bowl is absolutely perfect crunchy toasted oats and nuts against creamy greek yogurt with fresh berries that pop in your mouth. each spoonful gives you multiple sensations that keep the dish interesting from start to finish”
“the pancakes arrived disappointingly lukewarm and had that slightly rubbery texture that screams been sitting too long. for a place that clearly cares about food quality temperature control needs work”
“the smoked salmon on their bagel is exceptional properly cured with that perfect silky texture and clean ocean flavor that tells you its quality fish. they dont skimp on portions either which i appreciate”
“teh cream cheese was clearly teh cheap stuff too thick artificial tasting and didnt spread properly on the bagel. actually with salmon this good they should invest in better dairy to match”
“the breakfast sandwich here is a proper beast - thick cut bacon perfectly runny eggs aged cheddar and hash browns all piled onto a toasted everything bagel that somehow contains the whole glorious mess. its the hangover cure THAT actually works”
“no beer service which i get for morning but they don't even have those fancy non alcoholic craft beers some brunch places do now. legit sometimes you want something more interesting than coffee or juice with your big breakfast”
“so like teh plating here is gorgeous every dish looks like it belongs in a magazine with perfect color contrast and thoughtful garnishes. the avocado toast comes arranged like a work of art with edible flowers and microgreens that actually photograph beautifully in natural light lol”
“the tables are so close together that getting the perfect overhead shot is nearly impossible constantly worried about bumping into other diners while trying to capture the food”
