THE LEAD VERDICT
“ok the lamb shoulder had this INCREDIBLE harissa spiced crust that brought real heat not that watered down version most fancy places do. the spice blend was actually complex cardamom coriander coming through beautifully and it paired so well with the mint chimichurri”
“the appetizer cauliflower was tiny for $18 ADN tbh the heat level was pretty mild despite saying fiery on the menu. honestly ive had spicier stuff at chain restaraunts no cap trust me”
ALSO FILED
“ok the roasted vegetable tart was genuinely a revelation..!!! like layers of caramelized fennel, butternut squash, heirloom tomatoes all nestled in this perfectly flaky pastry. best one ive had downtown hands down”
“literally my server seemed totally confused when i asked about vegan modifications adn like... had to go chat with teh kitchen for forever and also ended up waiting almost 15 mins JUST to find out what they could actually change no joke”
“finally a fancy resturant where teh staff actually gets cross-contamination protocols - tehy brought out a separate gluten-free bread basket without me even asking and modified three dishes seamlessly. like actually impressive lol”
“the gluten-free dessert was just seasonal fruit with honey drizzled on top which felt like an afterthought compared to all the elaborate chocolate stuff everyone else was getting”
“never thot id say this about fine dining but the beef tenderloin was cooked exactly how i like it - no crazy sauces, just perfect seasoning and this char that honestly reminded me of the best backyard bbqs”
“the wine list totally intimidated me and when our server made reccomendations and i mentioned i usually just drink beer with dinner he was being kinda condescending about it would go back”
“ok the duck confit was absolutely ridiculous in the best way possible. crispy skin that literally shattered like glass, meat so tender it just melted off the fork, and that cherry gastrique had just enough tartness to cut through the richness. plus our server actually knew what was in every dish and made recommendations that were dead on”
“but like.. $45 for an entree and also ngl i expected teh bread service to be more than just decent sourdough with regular butter come on GEORGE step up that opening game”
“finally a nice restaurant that actually gets gluten free dining right wihtout making it a whole thing!! they brought out a separate gf bread basket without me even asking and the server walked me through every dish that could be modified. the gf gnocchi was incredible you literally wouldnt know it wasnt made with REGULAR flour smh”
“dessert options for gluten free people tho were pretty limited basically jsut sorbet. not even kidding for a place like this id really love to see more creative gf dessert options instead of just the obvious choices”
“the ribeye was cooked exactly how i asked for it - medium rare with a perfect char on the outside. came with these roasted fingerling potatoes that were crispy and buttery. simple solid no fuss just quality meat done right”
“teh wine list is intimidating as hell if youre not into that whole scene!!! i asked for something red and not too expensive and the sommelier literally looked at me like id asked for ketchup on my steak lol”
“gotta say teh seared halibut was INCREDIBLE - skin so crispy it literally shattered when you bit into it, and the flesh underneath was impossibly moist and sweet they paired it with this delicate saffron beurre blanc that didnt overpower the fish at all”
“oyster selection was pretty disappointing for how upscale this place is - only like three varieties and tehy didnt even mention harvest dates or where theyre from or anything just saying”
