THE LEAD VERDICT
“the wagyu presentation was absolutely stunning - they brought it on a heated stone slab still sizzling so you could see all the marbling under the dramatic lighting. literally every angle looked good and the meat was so tender it basically melted with my fork”
“but teh table lighting while pretty cast harsh shadows that made it impossible to photograph the appetizers without using my phone flash which sucked”
ALSO FILED
“for real love that they stay open until 10:30 PM on weeknights - perfect for post-work dinners adn the late crowd has this sophisticated energy that makes the whole experience feel special”
“parking in the Bay Street area is absolutely brutal especially for dinner service”
“dining solo at teh bar was actually perfect - the bartender knew his cocktails AND the menu and made solid pairing suggestions. ngl the prime rib got carved tableside all theatrical and i had the best view of the kitchen which was awesome”
“teh baar stools are nice looking but kinda impractical for eating - no back support made it uncomfortable to sit thru teh whole multi course thing”
“the staff treated my teenage son like a real customer explaining different cuts and temperatures without being condescending. portions were huge - hes still talking abt that 12oz ribeye a week later”
“the wine list is massive but SO overwhelming for someone trying to find something reasonable for family dinner - most bottles started at $80 with basically no guidance for cheaper stuff”
“lowkey teh dry-aged porterhouse was everything a steak should be - deeply beefy flavor perfect medium-rare throughout with that distinctive funkiness that only proper aging delivers yikes”
“not even kidding the lobster tail seemed like an afterthot clearly frozen and just steamed without any real technique”
“honestly their espresso program is actually serious - the cortado i had after dinner was pulled with precision adn had this velvety microfoam with beans that tasted literally roasted yesterday!!! finally a steakhouse that doesn't treat coffee like its not important 10/10”
“gotta say but the pre dinner cocktail i ordered had coffee liqueur that tasted super artificial and way too sweet which was weird considering how good their actual coffee program is haha”
“foor a high-end steakhouse their lunch portions are surprisingly generous and the weekday prix fixe menu offers real value in the Financial District”
“cocktails are overpriced even by Toronto standards - $18 for a basic Old Fashioned feels excessive”
“the béarnaise saucee was executed flawlessly - proper emulsion bright acidity from the tarragon adn you could tell they made it à la minute rather than holding it under heat lamps”
“look teh sear on the steak while adequate LACKED the deep caramelization that seperates goood steakhouses from great ones”
