THE LEAD VERDICT
“the eggs benedict here is legitimately what dreams are made of - poached eggs with yolks that just like cascade everywhere golden and silky, plus their hollandaise has the perfect lemon tang to it. bottomless mimosas on weekends too which is basically required for proper brunch honestly”
“hash browns were soggy underneath which was disappointing - like they'd been sitting under the eggs too long before they brought it out”
ALSO FILED
“super happy they have a solid vegan scramble with nutritional yeast and roasted veggies. the staff actually knew what was plant-based and even suggested modifications to make other stuff vegan-friendly which was cool”
“only had oat milk for coffee tho which is limiting. actually no soy or almond options”
“ok their breakfast sandwich is actually insane. thick-cut bacon, egg that's perfectly runny, on this brioche that's crispy on the outside but like SO buttery inside. honestly feels like food truck quality but in an actual resturant would recommend”
“waited 25 mins on a tuesday morning tho. come ON it's literally just eggs and toast would recommend”
“so like the hollandaise on thier eggs benedict was just flawlessly emulsified - silky, lemony, that perfect balance of richness and acidity that only happens when they actually know what they're doing. you can tell they're making it fresh to order, not just holding it in some bain-marie like so many places do”
“bacon was overcooked to teh point of being brittle, no meaty chew at all. like a simple timing adjsutment would legit elevate this dish so much”
“they have gluten-free bread that actually tastes good - not the usual cardboard garbage. so like and the staff knew about cross-contamination and offered to make my eggs in a seperate pan without me even asking which was amazing”
“gluten-free options are super limited tho, basically just the one bread adn some egg dishes. would be so good if they added gf pancakes or waffles to really be a go-to for celiacs”
“the contrast in their french toast is just *chef's kiss* - crispy caramelized outside but then custardy soft inside, with maple syrup pooling everywhere. was still steaming when they brought it out temp was perfect”
“teh fruit salad tho had that mealy cold texture that totally clashed with the warm rich main dish. ruined the vibe”
“ok so thier breakfast burger is honestly just a thing of beauty - perfectly griddled beef patty w the runny fried egg, crispy bacon, and aged cheddar on this house-made brioche bun. the hash browns on the side were golden and crispy, like exactly what you want w a proper breakfast pint”
“coffee was so disappointing for a brunch spot, tasted like it'd been sitting on the warmer way too long. like they clearly know their way around a grill but the coffee game needs serious serious work”
“teh smoked salmon on their bagel was exceptional - clearly house-cured w just the right amount of salt and smoke, texture just melts on your tongue. capers and cream cheese and honestly it transported me straight to a proper jewish deli”
“no fresh seafood options beyond the salmon which feels like a missed opportunity given vancouver's right on the coast. would kill for some crab or local spot prawns on the brunch menu”
