THE LEAD VERDICT
“teh seafood risotto here is actually insane - like perfectly al dente arborio rice just swimming in this rich, briny broth that honestly tastes like the ocean threw a party. our server literally warned us it takes 25 mins to make right and brother, it was SO worth the wait”
“only being open tuesday through saturday feels like a personal attack on my sunday dinner plans tbh, and good luck getting a table without booking like weeks in advance - this place is packed tight”
ALSO FILED
“ok the tiramisu here is transcendent - layers of espresso-soaked ladyfingers and mascarpone that's SO light it basically floats off the spoon. they dust it wiht cocoa right at your table and if you pair it with their grappa it's like... the kind of finish that makes you wanna just sit there for hours nuff said”
“the wine list is pretty extensive but it's all super pricey italian stuff - honestly wish there were more mid-range options that wouldn't require taking out a second mortgage to pair with dinner big time”

CONTRIBUTING CRITICS
“their grilled branzino was perfect honestly - just lemon and herbs which sounds simple but it lets the fish actually taste good without all that heavy sauce stuff”
“Caesar salad tho was drowning in dressing and I'm pretty sure tehy used iceberg lettuce instead of romaine so like.. not even kidding not exactly nutritious for what they charge”
“the grilled octopus has THIS perfect char that just melts into incredibly tender flesh - every bite has that satisfying chew, never rubbery, and the crispy bitter greens wiht warm creamy white beans underneath? *chef's kiss* meh”
“bread service was weirdly lukewarm, didn't have that contrast between crispy crust and pillowy inside that makes you want to grab another piece, you know?”
“their lobster bisque hits different. actually creamy, actual chunks of lobster meat just floating around in there”
“parking on davenport is a niteMARE tho circled the block like three times before just paying for a lot would recommend”
“ok so the seafood tower at Joso's is actually insane value when you think about it per person - yeah it's a lot upfront but like lobster oysters mussels all together? you're getting what restaurants would charge way more for honestly”
“BUT the wine markup is absolutely brutal. saw them pour a bottle that was like $15 at the LCBO and they charged $65 for it. absolutely ridiculous”
“honestly joso's is literally like dining in an art gallery that also makes amazing seafood - the whole place is covered in local art and Davenport has that old toronto vibe that makes you feel like you're part of something historical”
“lowkey our server literally disappeared for like 20 mins between appetizer adn main which is rough when you're trying to impress someone and the conversation is getting weird 10/10”
“for a splurge meal joso's seriously delivers - portions are huge and the quality actually justifies the price!!! the branzino for two could feed three people easy, and with the whole tableside thing plus great service you're basically getting dinner AND a show meh”
“valet parking is madnatory and that's another 20 bucks on top of an already expensive night - i get that street parking on davenport sucks but it feels kinda nickel and dime-y when you're already dropping serious cash just saying”
